Be proactive with cancer

Published by dhill9290 at 1:44 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

There are many items that you can become educated about.  It seems like cancer is a growing topic.  I feel like it is everywhere around me all of the time.  I lost my mother when she was 45 to cervical cancer, my father when he was 63 and an uncle at the age of 50 from colon cancer, my aunt is diagnosed now with colon cancer, my younger sister diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 31.  Today, I found out my pastor was diagnosed with prostate cancer.  It’s not even like you can familiarize yourself with the type of cancer that hits you close to home, not when there are so many different types that is all around.  The only advice I would give to anyone is to go to the doctors on a regular basis and get your check-ups.  I am 39 years old and have had 3 mamograms, 2 colonoscopys, 1 endoscopy and over 30 pap smears.  The first 10 years after my mother passed away, I went to the doctors twice a year.
